Law Student Scholarships
Annually, the Monumental City Bar Foundation provides scholarship for law students who are attending law school in the State of Maryland and are in good academic standing.
ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS: Must be second, third, or fourth year evening/day law student enrolled in a law school in the State of Maryland and in good academic standing. Law students graduating in May are not eligible to apply.
CRITERIA: Applicants are evaluated according to the following criteria:
- Academic Excellence
- Leadership Skills
- Community Service
- Quality of Essay
- Two (2) Letters of Recommendations
- Interview
- Commitment to the Legal Profession and the Baltimore City Community
- Financial Need
- Work Experience
INTERVIEW:
All applicants must be available for an interview with the Scholarship Selection Committee during the second (2nd) week of April.
Note: If you are an applicant who is out town during the interview period a telephone interview may be arranged.
AMOUNT OF AWARD:
The Monumental City Bar Foundation will award two (2) scholarships in the amount of $5,000 each to one student from the University of Maryland School of Law and one student from the University of Baltimore School of Law.
The Monumental City Bar Foundation reserves the right to not award the scholarship(s) if it believes that there are no qualified candidates or when funds are not available.
APPLICATION DEADLINE:
Applications must be completed online or emailed to scholarship@monumentalcitybarfoundation.org no later than 5:00pm on the first (1st) Wednesday in April of each year.

Scholarship recipients will be notified by the end of April.
